Criteria for acceptance in FSL

Criteria for acceptance in FSL / FLUGSL is:

- Tournament play in previous year
- Performance in sanctioned league play
- Performance in State Cup play in prior year

Got Soccer Account

If you do not have a team account with got soccer and didn’t play in the FSL in the past year make sure that you provide us with your last year results or links (website) so we can view them. If you have an account with soccer in college please make sure it is updated and provide us with the link to your team page. You can also make comments in regards to new players that you added. The more information you provide the better. Thanks. Please sign in as your actual age group (season 2008/9). The system will automatically put you into the rising age group for the next season.

Commitment

"Clubs/Teams, by committing and getting accepted in the FSL/FLUGSL, agree to abide by all league and FYSA rules and regulations. In addition, the club will notify league officials 7 days in advance before canceling a scheduled match. Failure to do so may result in a fine up to $500.00 the team being placed not in good standing. This can result in the team having all its games nullified".

Due to the high request the FSL/Flugsa will consider to have 2 Mixed Groups instead of a South & North Group.

FLUGSA & FSL announce the second year of FLUGSL. This is a league to qualify teams for State Cup competition.

Format for the 2009/2010 Season

Teams per age group: U13 max. 20 teams & U14-U18 Max. 16

Season Starts: U13 & U14 September 12,13 and U15-U18 August 8 + 9. All dates will be posted shortly.

Referee Fee: Must be paid directly to the refs prior to the game. Same amount what is was for 2009 State Cup (TBA).

Standings & Seeding: Points will be acquired only when playing against teams in your own age-group. No points for cross-over games.

Guest Players/Dual Rostered Players: No guest players and no dual rostered players in non cross-over matches.

Cross Over Games: Just let us know if your team would play some additional cross over games and we will set up a crossover division. Here you can add guest players or dual-rostered players (max. 3). They must be from within club only.

Groups: Depending on the amount of teams that are being accepted we will form groups (Northern +Southern) as follows:

All age groups will be split into 2 groups of 8 teams or less depending on the amount of teams that get accepted.

Example: 9 teams from the Southern Div and 7 teams from the Northern Div. got accepted. In this case the most Northern team from the S-Div. will have to play in the N-Div.

League Games:U13 & U14 play Home and Away and U15 -> U18 play only one game

League Champs: At the conclusion of the regular season, a league champion will be determined in each age group. North Division and South Division – border: Tampa-Orlando-Melbourne.

Season Ending Playoffs (Overall Champ): Playoffs with invitations to R3PL teams. The R3PL teams will be the top seeded teams in the Playoffs.

Playoff Format: Max of 16 teams. If in example we have 16 teams playing in the league and 2 teams playing in R3PL the teams that came in 15th + 16th will not qualify for the Playoffs..

Let say we have 3 teams playing in the R3PL. Teams that came in 15 & 16 in league play will not qualify for the playoffs. 7th placed team from Group A & B will play a relegation game. Winner will qualify for playoffs.

U13’s - only the top 8 out of each group will qualify for playoffs.

After finishing the group games we will go into the playoffs (16 Teams).

FSL & State Cup Qualification

Participation in FSL and completion of the requisite games qualifies teams for participation in the FYSA State Cup. Each division plays one to two games per day, one to three weekends per month at various venues. The Florida State League is a Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) Sanctioned Soccer League.
